Practicing for College Placement Exams: Preparing for Placement and Exit Tests.
Most colleges require incoming freshmen to take placement tests to insure that the courses they take are appropriate to their level of achievement. Students whose scores on the SAT or ACT are marginal are at risk of being placed in non-credit, developmental courses if they do not perform acceptably on these tests.
High Schools can prepare their students who must take these exams by giving them practice opportunities prior to graduation. The same learning format will augment work done by the school to enable the student to pass the graduation exam.
This program provides practice in the actual testing format – reduces test-taking anxiety – promotes mastery of the basic concepts covered on the tests.
- Six lessons –two on English, two on reading and two on math. Each may be purchased separately. Each module has four tests – two pretests and two simulated exams.
- Developed and tested in college learning centers.
- Updated based on actual usage by college students and instructor feedback.
